Moira Ryan, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor and nationally approved clinical supervisor with over a decade of experience in mental health care. Specializing in gender-affirming care and clinical supervision, she brings expertise in program development, staff mentorship, and trauma-informed practices. As a WPATH-trained gender specialist and recipient of the Oregon Counseling Association's Human Rights Award, Moira has demonstrated a commitment to advancing accessible, culturally-responsive mental health services. Her training includes ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, certification from the Trauma Research Foundation and from Star Behavioral Health Providers, as well as group soundbath facilitation.
Throughout her career, Moira has focused on creating effective training programs and supervision frameworks that emphasize evidence-based practices and person-centered care. Her experience includes transforming clinical documentation systems and developing comprehensive programs through collaborative, client-led approaches. She has a proven track record of building successful initiatives by incorporating client feedback, fostering program ownership, and creating peer leadership opportunities within the communities she serves.
Beyond clinical work, Moira stays engaged in community education and advocacy. She has presented at the TransPride YOUniting Conference, served on WPATH's Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement Committee, and has provided over 200 pro bono surgery recommendation letters (so far!) for trans and gender-diverse clients. Her approach combines clinical expertise with a commitment to social justice. She's excited to be a part of Barcelona Counseling's awesome team of mental health professionals.
